The Ithaca College softball team defeated SUNY Cortland by a score of 7-6.
The game was tied 6-6 headed into the seventh inning when Ithaca scored one run in the top of the inning to take the lead. Cortland did not score any runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Red Dragons took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with three runs scored. Ithaca took the lead again in the top of the third inning as they scored three runs and Cortland tied the contest in the bottom of the third inning.
Each team added one run in the sixth inning to the contest 6-6.
Junior Jennifer Blum and freshman Amy McMordie both went 2-for-3 with two RBI and sophomore Meg Steere went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.
Sophomore Nicki Swan pitched a no-hitter in four innings pitched and had one strikeout. Senior Susan Reid pitched three innings of relief and only allowed three hits while striking out two batters.
