Ithaca vs Cornell, 1995

The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Cornell University, winning both games in five innings. The Bombers won the first game 20-4 and the second game 17-5. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 20, Cornell 4
 
The Bombers scored one run in the top of the first inning and added six runs in the top of the second inning. The Big Red scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning. 
 
Ithaca tallied three runs in the top of the third inning and two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 12-3 lead. The Bombers scored an impressive eight runs in the top of the fifth inning and Cornell put its last run on the board in the top of the fifth inning.
 
Sophomore Nicki Swan went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one home run and freshman Amy McMordie went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one home run. Junior Jennifer Blum went 1-for-4 with two RBI. 
 
Swan only allowed five hits and had one strikeout. She is now 11-9 on the season. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 17, Cornell 5
 
The Bombers dominated again as they had a 7-0 lead after two innings. Cornell cut the lead to 7-5 in the bottom of the second inning, and Ithaca answered with six runs in the top of the third inning. The Bombers scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. 
 
Senior Chris Pettograsso went 3-for-4 with four RBI off two doubles and sophomore Tracy Welliver went 2-for-2 with three RBI off two doubles. Junior Jennifer Hoselton and Blum each had two RBI as well. 
 
Senior Susan Reid allowed five hits and struck out four batters.
