The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against Buffalo State, losing the first game 7-4, but winning the second game 13-5.
Game 1 | Buffalo State 7, Ithaca 4
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Bengals cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom half of the inning. The Bombers scored two more runs in the top of the fourth to go up 4-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, Buffalo State scored six runs to take the 7-4 lead.
Freshman Amy McMordie went 1-for-4 with two RBI and senior Chris Pettograsso went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Sophomore Nicki Swan struck out five batters and gave up nine hits.
Game 2 | Ithaca 13, Buffalo State 5
Ithaca scored two runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings to take a 6-0 lead heading into the fifth inning. The Bengals scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut Ithaca's lead to 6-5.
The Bombers added three runs in the top of the sixth inning and four runs in the top of the seventh inning to go up my eight runs.
McMordie went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored and junior Jennifer Blum went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Swan picked up the win as she only allowed six hits and had one strikeout through five innings pitched.
