The Ithaca College softball team fell in the opening round of the NCAA Northeast Regional, losing to Springfield College 4-3.
The game was tied 3-3 headed into the bottom of the seventh inning when Springfield scored one run in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the top of the second inning. Springfield cut the lead to 2-1 in the second inning and added one run in the third to die the game. The Bombers scored one run in the top of the fourth to take the lead again, and Springfield tied it in the bottom of the sixth.
Junior Nicki Swan finished the game going 2-for-3 with one RBI and senior Jennifer Hoselton went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Swan gave up 11 hits and recorded four strikeouts.
