Ithaca vs Binghamton, 1996

The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against Binghamton University, losing the first game 6-3 and the second game 7-1. 
 
Game 1 | Binghamton 6, Ithaca 3
 
The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when the Bobcats put four runs on the board. The Bombers cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the third, which was highlighted by RBI singles from junior Marie Kelly and sophomore Amy McMordie. 
 
Binghamton tallied two more runs in the top of the seventh inning to extend the lead to 6-3. 
 
Kelly, McMordie, and junior Mary Ellen Hoffman all went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Senior Nicki Swan went 1-for-3 during the first game. Swan gave up seven hits and struck out six batters. 
 
Game 2 | Binghamton 7, Ithaca 1
 
Binghamton scored one run in the first inning and added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning. The Bearcats tallied two runs in the fifth and scored one final run in the seventh inning to take a 7-0 lead. The Bombers' lone run came in the bottom of the seventh inning. 
 
Freshman Cristina Alfano went 1-for-1 with one RBI during the second game. Junior Tracey Welliver and freshman Cheryl Wah both went 1-for-2. 
 
Sophomore Rebecca Lafornara allowed nine hits and struck out three batters in the loss.
