The Ithaca College softball team lost to Wheaton College in the championship game of the NCAA Northeast Regional, losing the contest by a score of 5-3. 
 
Wheaton scored one run in each of the second and third innings to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bombers took a 3-2 lead as seniors Mary Ellen Hoffman and Nicki Swan recorded RBIs. Wheaton scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to take the 5-3 lead. 
 
Hoffman went 2-for-3 on the day and Swan went 2-for-3 as well. Freshman Vanessa Montorsi went 1-for-4 with one run scored. 
 
Swan pitched the full game, giving up 10 hits and striking out three batters. The Bombers finish the season with a 30-16 record, the most wins the program has ever had in a season.
