The Ithaca College softball team defeated Springfield College 6-4 in nine innings to continue play at the NCAA Northeast Regional. 
 
With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the ninth inning, sophomore Cheryl Wah hit a two-out, two-run triple to give the Bombers the lead in what would end up being the final inning of the game.
 
Springfield jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning and the Bombers tied the game in the top of the third. Springfield took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third and tacked on one run in the fourth to have the 4-2 lead. 
 
Ithaca scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game 4-4. 
 
Freshman Vanessa Montorsi went 1-for-5 with two RBI and Wah went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Senior Mary Ellen Hoffman and junior Amy McMordie each had one RBI as well. 
 
Senior Nicki Swan pitched six innings of relief and only allowed three hits and struck out three batters.
