Ithaca vs Elmira, April 22, 1997

The Ithaca College softball team swept its doubleheader against Elmira College, winning the first game 13-1 and the second game 7-0. 
 
Game 1 | Ithaca 13, Elmira 1
 
Ithaca had a 1-0 lead headed into the third inning, but the Bombers scored an incredible eight runs in the third inning to take a 9-0 lead. The Bombers scored four more runs in the top of the fifth as Elmira put their lone run on the board in the bottom of the fifth. 
 
Freshman Vanessa Montorsi went 3-for-3 with three RBI and sophomore Julie McGraw went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Freshman Melissa Fratine went 1-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. 
 
Senior Nicki Swan pitched a three-hitter and struck out four batters in the win. 
 
Game 2 | Ithaca 7, Elmira 0
 
Ithaca had an early 1-0 lead in the second inning and scored three more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead. The Bombers added two more runs in the sixth and a final run in the seventh to clinch the 7-0 victory. 
 
Junior Kristi Clark went 1-for-3 with two RBI and freshman Kristin Muenzen went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Swan went 2-for-4 with one RBI during the second game. 
 
Freshman Robin Bimson gave up seven hits and struck out five batters during her seventh win of the season.
