The Ithaca College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against Division I Cornell University, losing the first game 3-0 and the second game 6-4.
Game 1 | Cornell 3, Ithaca 0
The Big Red scored one run in the second, third and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead. Cornell's Julie Westbrock, who is now 8-2 on the season, held the Bombers to just one hit throughout the first game.
Sophomore Cheryl Wah went 1-for-2 during the game. Senior Nicki Swan gave up six hits and struck out five batters.
Game 2 | Cornell 6, Ithaca 4
Cornell put five runs up on the board in the first inning to take a commanding lead, but the Bombers cut the lead to 5-3 in the third inning. The Bombers scored one more run in the top of the fourth and the Big Red scored one final run in the bottom of the fourth.
Freshman Kristin Muenzen went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI single and Wah went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Freshman Christie Davis pitched 2.0 innings and struck out two batters. She is now 4-2 on the season.
