The Ithaca College softball team defeated Wheaton College 6-2.
The Bombers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. Ithaca added one more run in the second and third innings to take a 6-0 lead. Wheaton scored in the fifth and sixth innings to cut the lead to 6-2 but could not score any runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game.
Freshman Nicole Fava hit a double in the first inning to help the Bombers take an early lead. She finished the day going 1-for-3 with three RBI. Freshman Laura Remia went 3-for-4 with one RBI and sophomore Vanessa Montorsi went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Sophomore Christie Davis pitched the full game and only allowed six hits in the win.
