The Ithaca College softball team defeated St. John Fisher by a score of 6-4 in the second round of the NYSWCAA Playoffs. Ithaca will play Elmira College in the fifth-place game May 2.
Ithaca scored two runs in the top of the second when freshman Laura Remia hit a two-run home run to left field. Fisher cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, junior Sharon Orchard hit a bases-loaded single to score two runs and extend the Ithaca lead to 4-1. Fisher scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game.
The Bombers added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning to secure the 6-4 lead.
Remia went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Orchard went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Sophomore Christie Davis had one strikeout and allowed seven hits during the win.
