The Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader against the Rochester Institute of Technology, winning the first game 6-0 and losing the second game 8-3.
Game 1 | Ithaca 6, RIT 0
The Bombers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first and scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-0 lead. Ithaca added one run in the fourth and sixth innings as well.
Freshman Lindy West went 2-for-3 with two RBI and freshman Laura Remia went 2-for-3 with one RBI, Sophomore Vanessa Montorsi and juniors Julie McGraw and Cheryl Wah each added an RBI as well.
Sophomore Robin Bimson pitched a four-hitter and struck out three batters. She is now 14-7 on the season.
Game 2 | RIT 8, Ithaca 3
Ithaca had an early 1-0 lead, which RIT tied in the top of the fourth inning. The Bombers scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings to regain the lead, but the Tigers scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning. RIT added one final run in the top of the seventh.
Senior Margo McGowan went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two triples. Sophomore Kristin Muenzen went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Bimson picked up her eighth loss of the season as she pitched 1.2 innings in relief.
