The Ithaca College softball team defeated Eastern Connecticut State 9-1. The Bombers are now 31-13 on the season and the 31 wins is now a school record.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when the Bombers scored two runs in the top of the fourth and then added an impressive four runs in the top of the fifth. ECSU scored its lone run in the bottom of the sixth and Ithaca tallied three runs in the top of the seventh.
Senior Marco McGowan went 2-for-3 with two RBI and freshman Laura Remia went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman Nichole Fava went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the game.
Sophomore Christie Davis pitched 5.2 innings and only allowed five hits in the win. The Bombers advance to play SUNY Cortland in an NCAA Northeast Regional elimination game.
