The Ithaca College softball team defeated SUNY Cortland 5-2 for the team's first win against Cortland this season.
The Red Dragons scored in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead, but the Bombers tied the game in the bottom of the first. Ithaca added one more run in the bottom of the second and third innings to take a 3-1 lead.
The Bombers scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings to extend the lead to 5-1. The Red Dragons scored one run in the top of the seventh.
Sophomore Vanessa Montorsi went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Freshman Lindy West went 3-for-3 with one RBI and senior Margo McGowan went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Sophomore Robin Bimson allowed 11 hits and had one strikeout in the contest.
