The Ithaca College softball team fell to SUNY Cortland in both games of its doubleheader, losing the first game 2-1 and the second game 11-10.

The Bombers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead and were unable to score any more runs throughout the contest. The Red Dragons scored both their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.Â

The lone run in the top of the first game from freshman Laura Remia, who hit her fifth double of the season. She finished the first game going 1-for-2 with one RBI.Â

Sophomore Robin Bimson pitched a five-hitter and struck out three batters in the loss. She is now 10-4 on the season.Â

Game 2 | Cortland 11, Ithaca 10

The game was tied 10-10 headed into the ninth inning as Cortland scored one final run in the bottom of the ninth to get the victory.

Ithaca scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Red Dragons scored six runs in the bottom part of the inning. Cortland added three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 9-2 lead.Â

The Bombers scored an incredible seven runs in the top of the third inning to tie the game, but the Red Dragons added one more run in the bottom of the third inning. Ithaca tied the game with one more run in the top of the sixth to force the game into extra innings.Â

Freshman Lindy West went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Senior Margo McGowan went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Remia went 4-for-6 with one RBI.Â

Bimson pitched 7.2 innings and gave up four hits and struck out three batters.Â

With both losses, Ithaca is now 16-6 on the season.
