Ithaca vs Buffalo State, May 8, 1998

The Ithaca College softball team defeated Buffalo State in eight innings to continue in the NCAA Northeast Regional. 
 
In the bottom of the seventh, Ithaca overcame a three-run deficit to tie the game 7-7. Sophomore Janine Lawler drove in the game-tying run off a single. The Bombers scored one run in the bottom of the eighth off an error. 
 
Ithaca jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and then added one run in the bottom of the third. Buffalo State tied the game in the top of the fourth with four runs in one inning and then took the lead in the top of the fifth with one additional run. Buffalo State then scored two runs in the top of the seventh to extend the lead to 7-4. 
 
Freshman Laura Remia went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Senior Margo McGowan went 3-for-5 with one RBI and Lawler went 4-for-4 with one RBI. 
 
Sophomore Robin Bimson is now 18-10 on the season as she pitched three innings of relief, only allowing five hits and striking out two.
