The Ithaca College softball team defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 5-0 in the seventh game of the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional. With the win, the Bombers tie the school record with their 31st win.
Ithaca scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning when sophomore Kim Sebastiao doubled to right center to score sophomore Donna Fisher.
All four of the remaining runs came in the bottom of the fifth inning. One run came on a wild pitch, but the next two came from a single by junior Laura Remia. Remia then crossed home plate herself when sophomore Kristin Furdon singled to left field.
Senior Robin Bimson pitched all seven innings and only allowed five hits. Bimson is now 27-8 on the season.
