The No. 9 Ithaca College softball team fell to Cornell University in the team's first game after the spring break trip, losing the game 8-5.
Ithaca jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Cornell scored four runs in the top of the second to take the lead. The Bombers cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth with an additional run, but Cornell added two more runs in the top of the fifth.
Ithaca cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth with two more runs, but Cornell sealed the win with two runs in the top of the seventh.
Sophomore Kristin Furdon went 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Junior Laura Remia went 1-for-2 with one RBI off her second home run of the season.
Senior Robin Bimson gave up 11 hits and struck out three. She is now 6-2 on the season.
