ALFRED, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team claimed a victory over Alfred on Saturday afternoon, 192-106.

The Bombers started the day in a particularly strong manner, winning the 200 medley relay and breaking Alfred's pool record. The team of
Tim Hector,
Andrew Mikhailichenko,
Nate Bartalo and
Stanley Zaneski swam to a time of 1:36.55, breaking the previous pool record of 1:36.63 set in 2015.

Ithaca followed that with a win in the 1,000 freestyle, as first-year
Max Bridges won the field in 10:23.60.
Nick Bonnabeau took second in 10:29.04 while Pat Daly claimed third with a time of 10:33.94.

Mikhailichenko, a senior, was the victor in the 200 freestyle after swimming to a time of 1:50.26.

First-year
Carter Matteson was the top finisher for the Bombers in the 100 backstroke, taking third place in 55.27. Alfred's Andrew Edmister took first with a time of 53.93.

Ithaca once again claimed the top spot, this time in the 100 breaststroke, as
Anthony Porto won in 1:02.35.
Augie Carlozzi took fourth place with a time of 1:04.08.

The Bombers took the top two spots in the 200 butterfly. Sophomore
Matt Crysler won the field with a time of 2:03.65, followed by Daly in second with a time of 2:05.09.

Zaneski led the way for IC in the 50 freestyle, winning in 21.29.
Daniel Meyers took third with a time of 22.82 while Porto finished fourth in 22.97.

Zaneski followed that up with a win in the 100 freestyle, swimming to a time of 47.68. Bartalo came in second with a time of 49.37 while Meyers finished in third with a time of 49.65.

Alfred's Edmister won the field in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.00. Matteson was the top finisher for IC, taking second with a time of 2:00.44. Bridges took third with a time of 2:02.89 while
Holden Shatouhy claimed fourth in 2:05.47.

The Bombers' top finisher in the 200 breaststroke was Hector, who took second in 2:19.41, while Carlozzi finished in third with a time of 2:20.51. Alfred's Phill Volaski won in 2:18.64.

Mikhailichenko won his second individual race of the day in the 500 freestyle after swimming to a time of 4:55.16. Sophomore
Dylan Haraden took third in 5:04.74.

It was Bartalo who claimed the top spot in the 100 butterfly, racing to a time of 52.43. Porto was not far behind in second with a time of 54.28 while Crysler claimed third in 55.37.
After a strong showing early in the meet, Matteson claimed victory in the 400 IM, swimming to a time of 4:20.95. Shatouhy finished in second place with a time of 4:26.97.

Ithaca wrapped up the swimming portion of its day with a win in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Zaneski, Meyers, Hector and Bartalo won the field with a time of 1:27.66.

Junior
Justin Moczynski had a strong day for Ithaca, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards against the Saxons.

On the 1-meter, Moczynski claimed victory with a total score of 296.85 while first-year
Ethan Godfrey took second with 287.50 points.

The 3-meter board played out in similar fashion as Moczynski won with a score of 314.20. Godfrey took second on this board as well with 280.15 points.

Ithaca's divers are back in action tomorrow with the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational. The meet, held in IC's Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium, will begin at 10 a.m. Both swimming and diving will be back in action next Saturday, February 1 at home against Union.
