Mase, Mazzella Receive 2019 NSCA All-American Athlete Award

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is proud to announce Ferdinand Mase (Wrestling) and Meghan Mazzella (Women's Basketball) as 2019 All-American Athlete Award recipients. This award recognizes their athletic accomplishments and dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by Strength and Conditioning Head Coach, Vic Brown, Ferdinand and Meghan's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at Ithaca College.
 
"We are proud to have Coach Brown join the NSCA in its mission to safely improve athletic performance," says Coach Scott Caulfield, the NSCA's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, "Supporting our student-athletes like Ferdinand and Meghan guarantees a stronger future for the NSCA."

"Ferdinand's commitment to excellence has been unwavering since his arrival on South Hill. Named to both the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) and Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) All-Academic Teams, Ferdinand is a leader in the classroom and on the mat. He has an infectious work ethic that teammates look up to and follow, an unrelenting never quit attitude that sets him apart. His outstanding dedication to his teammates and the wrestling program sets the standard for character. He understands the leadership to continue the legacy of the wrestling program and leaves Ithaca College an NCAA All – American," stated Brown.

"Meghan is a great standard for teamwork, discipline (i.e. attention to detail), perseverance and leadership. She is a committed teammate and credible leader by example of hard work. She has proven to be assiduous and persistent through the process. Named to the Liberty League All – Academic Team, Meghan is a leader in the classroom and on the court as a key contributor on three NCAA Tournament Teams.," said Brown.
