PRESS CONFERENCE
POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's volleyball witnessed its season come to a heart-breaking end on Sunday afternoon, as the Bombers had their bid for a third straight NCAA Regional Championship fall just short in another five-set battle against their Liberty League nemesis in the Golden Knights. IC rallied from down two-sets to force a decisive fifth frame, which again went into extra-points before the tournament hosts prevailed (21-25, 19-25, 25-14, 25-23, 14-16). The loss brings Ithaca's season to an end with the squad finishing the 2019 campaign with a 20-11 overall record.
For the second time in the span of eight days, Ithaca had to suffer the sting of a heart-breaking marathon defeat to their Liberty League rivals – this final time for all the marbles. Much like the Liberty League Final, Ithaca won on the stat-sheet, but were unable to prevail on the ultimate scoreboard. The Bombers held hefty advantages of 71-to-55 in kills, 99-to-87 in digs, as well as a 34-point lead in hitting percentage (.217-to-.183). Somehow that did not translate into a win, as the Knights were able to hang on for a fifth-set win after squandering away a two-set advantage to begin the match.
Senior setter
Caitlyn Floyd closed out her illustrious Ithaca career with another massive performance in the hard-fought defeat. Her strong deliveries helped the Bombers in their comeback effort, as she finished the match with 57 assists, registering a new single-season high in the process. She also filled the stat sheet with nine digs and two kills. She will graduate as one of the best to ever don the Ithaca jersey.
Offensively, junior
Reagan Stone paced a group of four Bombers with double-figures in kills. She finished with a match-high 28 kills on .288 hitting success, while also delivering four digs. Sophomore
Alison Lipton had a phenomenal match as well. Playing on basically one leg in grinding through the wear and tear of a long season, the second-year talent racked up 17 kills on .375 hitting, while also chipping in three block assists. First-year
Camryn O'Leary also posted double-figures for a second straight match in postseason play, finishing with 10 kills and two digs.
Junior
Sarah Jennison and sophomore
Monet Peoples also saw action on the day. Each player registered one kill, while Peoples added one block assist, one dig, and one assist.
In the middle, first-year
Jennifer Pitts had another big two-way outing. She finished with 11 kills on .333 hitting success. Defensively, she turned in two solo blocks, two block assists, as well as two digs. Junior

The backline was paced by another huge effort from sophomore libero
Jordyn Lyn Hayashi. It was another 30-dig effort for the second-year talent, as she finished with 30 digs, three service aces and six assists. Sophomore Jaelyn Hersberger also had a monster match, finishing with a career-high 20 digs and adding two service aces herself. First-year
