ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College baseball team was dealt a 10-4 loss on Tuesday afternoon at Freeman Field by No. 10 SUNY Cortland to drop to 11-10 on the season. Cortland, which is now 21-6 overal, extends its winning streak to 13 straight.
Cortland jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning as the Red Dragons cracked the scoreboard on a passed ball and then plated another on a single through the left side. Cortland began the contest with back-to-back walks, and after consecutive fielder's choices, the passed ball allowed the initial run to score. A wild pitch ensued before the run-scoring base hit.
The Red Dragons built their lead to 5-0 in the top of the second with a bases-clearing double by Justin Teague. Ithaca retired the first two outs of the inning, but back-to-back singles and an error prolonged Cortland's at bat, which set up the three-run double.

Adam Gallagher led off with a base hit, but was retired on a fielder's choice off the bat of junior
John Peterson. An infield single by junior
Garrett Snyder put two runners on and then just
Cam Fuoti drew a walk to fill the bases.

Andrew Bailey scored on a wild pitch to make the score 5-1. Bailey found his way on third with a double and then a groundout.
The Bombers plated another run in the bottom of the fourth to pull to within a 5-2 score. Snyder led off with a triple to right-center and Fuoti drove him in with a sac fly to right field.
Cortland went back up by four runs, 6-2, in the top of the seventh on a two-out double. Cortland's leadoff batter in the inning reached on a line drive single to left and moved up to third on a sac bunt and groundout.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ithaca had another chance to close in on Cortland, as the first two runners reached on walks. The inning quickly ended as a strikeout and double play retired the side.
The Red Dragons put the game out of reach in the top of the eighth with four runs to push their lead to 10-2. Cortland's big blow came on another bases-clearing double with one out. The final run of the frame scored on an error.
