RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team held its first home meet of the 2018-19 season on Friday evening, December 7, as the Bombers took on SUNY Cortland inside Glazer Arena at the Athletics and Events Center. Ithaca defeated Cortland, 80-47, in the dual meet as the Bombers won eight different events.
In the 800-meter run, Ithaca took six of the top seven spots as junior
Maggie Nickerson led the way in first at 2:22.93. Freshman
Paloma De Monte took runner-up honors at 2:23.53 and senior
Britney Swarthout was third at 2:23.55. Junior
Lizz Eberhardt came in fifth at 2:27.62, freshman
Lindsay Scott took sixth in 2:30.31 and freshman
Lauren Lobdell was seventh at 2:31.67.
Ithaca secured seven top finishes in the high jump on Friday. Junior
Estelle Yedynak led the way in first at 1.61 meters, while freshmen
Grace Merchant and
Riley Brunner were second with a clearance of 1.56 meters. Freshman
Logan Bruce also cleared 1.56 meters to come in fourth, while freshman
Susie Foley posted a mark of 1.51 meters to finish in fifth. Senior
Catherine Larkin was sixth at 1.51 meters and freshman
Gabrielle Schlessinger came in seventh at 1.46 meters.
In the pole vault, freshman
Meghan Matheny had an impressive collegiate home-opener as she topped the field at 3.50 meters. Sophomores
Julia Nomberg and
Juliann Terry tied for second at 3.35 meters, while sophomore
Emily Carey was fourth at 3.05 meters and freshman
Alexandra Mckenzie was sixth at 2.30 meters.
The Bombers claimed the top three placements in the 3,000-meter run. Junior
Annie Morrison won with a time of 10.55.33, junior
Maria Matkoski followed in second at 11:01.92 and junior
Parley Hannan was third at 11:04.74. Freshman
Meghan Beahan clocked in at 11:40.86 to place sixth and freshman
Isabel Johnston was eighth at 12:02.50.
Junior
Sarah Rudge won the mile with a time of 5:22.15, while classmate
Jessica Fritzsch came in fifth at 5:33.77. Sophomore
Sydney Strelec won the triple jump with a mark of 10.44 meters, while freshman
Molly Sear was second at 10.29 meters, freshman
Makenzie Baker took fourth at 9.82 meters and sophomore
Anna Galarza was fifth at 9.22 meters.
Junior
Kendall Wellauer prevailed in the shot put with a mark of 11.99 meters, while sophomore
Samantha Healy was the runner-up at 11.76 meters. Sophomore
Ariyahna Bernard came in fourth at 11.22 meters, freshman
Abbey Stowell was fifth with a top mark of 10.20 meters, Bruce came in sixth at 9.56 meters and sophomore
Liana Shames was seventh at 9.24 meters.
In the weight throw, Bernard finished in second at 13.42 meters, Wellauer was third at 13.21 meters, Healy came in fourth with a mark of 12.64 meters and Shames finished fifth at 11.07 meters. Freshman
Jaylin Rumsey came in eighth at 8.84 meters.

Lindsay Scott, sophomore
Thea Sousa, Lobdell and Eberhardt won with a time of 4:29.15.
The Bombers had a strong showing in the 60-meter hurdles with five top eight races. Bruce was the runner-up at 9.52 seconds, while Stowell was third with a time of 9.68. Senior
Catherine Larkin finished in fifth at 9.79, freshman
Lauren Rullo was sixth at 10.03 and Strelec was eighth with a time of 10.63.
Strelec took second in the long jump with a mark of 5.07 meters, while Beckley was third at 5.06 meters. Sear measured out 4.82 meters to place fifth, while Terry was sixth at 4.81 meters. Wetmore also reached 4.81 meters to come in seventh.
Junior
Amanda Wetmore was a second place finisher in the 60-meter dash at 8.09 seconds, while fellow junior
Meghan Burd was third at 8.10. Freshman
Renee Manosh took fifth at 8.20, senior
Jordan Beckley was sixth at 8.28 and sophomore
Sarah Lachenmayr finished in eighth at 8.69.
Freshman
Katelyn Hutchison posted a time of 27.18 seconds in the 200-meter dash to finish third overall, while Wetmore was fourth at 27.29 and Manosh came in fifth at 27.68. Sophomore
Jaime Sheppard clocked in at 27.92 to take seventh and Burd placed eight at 27.94.
Freshman
Emily Adams finished the 400-meter dash in 1:01.94 to place third, while freshman
Stephanie Behrens was fifth at 1:04.31 and freshman
Kate Delaney was seventh at 1:07.01.
Four Bomber teams raced in the 4x200-meter relay as Manosh, Terry, Strelec and Behrens posted a second place time of 1:52.08. Burd, Yedynak, Bruce and Sear were fourth in 1:52.72. Lachenmayr, Matheny, Merchant and freshman
Kristina Hoefler placed fifth at 1:55.55. Nomberg, Larkin, McKenzie and Galarza came in sixth at 2:01.16.
Ithaca is back in action on January 5th at 3:30 p.m. for its home Alumni Celebration and then heads to Ramapo on the 11th for a 10 a.m. meet.
