ITHACA, N.Y.
– The Ithaca College men's soccer team is set to host Skidmore on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Higgins Stadium in the first round of the 2018 Liberty League Tournament.

The Bombers clinched a spot in the tournament last Wednesday with a 1-0 win over RIT and secured the No. 3 seed after topping Vassar, 4-3, on Saturday in thrilling fashion.

Sophomore Jonathan Kyriakidis netted the game-winners in both games, en route to earning Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week.

On Wednesday against RIT, Kyriakidis netted a header off of a Thomas Pierce corner kick in the 62nd minute, earning the Bombers their first-ever bid to the Liberty League tournament after joining the conference in 2017.

Kyriakidis then went on to complete IC's heroic comeback against Vassar on Saturday afternoon. After the Bombers fell behind, 3-0, Ithaca was sparked by a Nate Schoen penalty kick, and proceeded to score four goals in less than 26 minutes.

In the final 10 minutes, Ithaca tied things up behind goals from Kevin Turi and Pierce, before Kyriakidis netted the game-winner with 2:39 left.

The Bombers currently sit at 12-2-3 on the season with a 5-2-2 mark in the Liberty League. IC opened up the season with nine-straight games without a loss, marking the most successful season the program has had since 1999.

Ithaca rounded out the non-conference slate undefeated, picking up wins over Alfred State, Wells, Elmira, Hamilton, Brockport, Oswego and Alfred. It was the first time in program history that the Bombers finished without a loss in non-conference play.

Team Leaders

Kyriakidis leads Ithaca's scoring efforts, tallying five goals on the season while also notching two assists for a team-high 12 points. He is ranked among the top 10 in the Liberty League for both goals and game-winners (3).
