THE MATCHUP: Ithaca, the co-champions of the Liberty League, will bring a 7-3 record into Saturday's contest against former Empire 8 Conference rival Salisbury, which is now a member of the NJAC, and also sports a 7-3 mark.

: Now in its third year, ECAC Division III Football Fest (#ECACD3FBFEST) is a one-of-a-kind event in college athletics.

The ECAC moved the Division III football bowl games to a neutral site in 2015 in an effort to enhance the postseason experience offered to its student-athletes, and in that regard, last year's event was a resounding success. The ECAC is excited to partner with the University of Delaware Department of Athletics to bring this year's DIII Football Fest to Delaware Stadium, and creating the memorable championship experience our student-athletes deserve.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy and Buffalo State play in Friday's contest at 7:30 p.m., while Muhlenberg and Carnegie Mellon kick-off Saturday's action at 11 a.m. The bowl fest concludes with Stevenson and Alfred at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN: The Bombers and Gulls have squared off against each other five times dating back to 1986. Ithaca is 3-2 all-time in those meetings, including victories in the past three matchups from 2012-14. Salisbury was victorious in the 1986 showdown during the NCAA Semifinals, 44-40.

After a 25-year hiatus, the two schools met up again in 2011, and Salisbury came away with a 21-7 win as a member of the Empire 8.

Ithaca was on the winning end of a 21-14 decision in 2012, and followed with 24-23 (overtime) and 32-7 victories in 2013 and 2014.

ECAC HISTORY: The Bombers have played in six ECAC Bowl Games since 1984 and are 4-2 overall. IC's inaugural selection took place in 1984, where the Bombers faced Norwich and won, 35-14. Three years later, Ithaca lost to Plymouth State, 13-12, but rebounded in 1996 with a 27-21 triumph over Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Ithaca followed with its most convincing victory in ECAC postseason play with a 40-6 win over Hartwick in 1998. In 1999, Union prevailed over the Bombers, 31-7, but in 2004, IC took down UMASS-Dartmouth, 36-19.

LAST TIME OUT: Last Saturday, Ithaca hosted Cortland for the 59th Cortaca Jug Game and snapped the Red Dragons' seven-game winning streak in the rivalry with a convincing 48-20 win at Butterfield Stadium. The 48 points scored by the Bombers were the second most in the storied rivalry. In 1983, Ithaca put up 49 points at Butterfield Stadium in a 49-26 triumph.

The Bombers scored 20 points in the first quarter on last weekend's game and led Cortland by a 34-6 score at the half.

ONE (OR TWO) FOR THE RECORD BOOKS: Against the Red Dragons, freshman Wahid Nabi passed for a school-record six touchdowns, including five in the first half, and finished with 329 yards on 27-for-37 attempts. The last Bomber quarterback to throw five touchdowns in a game was Mike O'Donovan in 1998 against AIC.

Also on Saturday, sophomore Will Gladney became the third receiver in school history to record 1,000 yards in a season. Gladney also ranks second on the single-season list with 71 receptions needs four on Saturday to take over first place.

POSTSEASON HONORS: The Liberty League released its postseason awards on Wednesday and 14 Bombers received all-conference recognition. Nabi highlighted the selections at the Rookie of the Year.

On the first-team were Gladney, Geoff Bell, Brian Gill, Kenny Bradley, Dan Loizos and Jordan Schemm. Second-team honorees were Nabi, Schemm as a returner, Jack Yule, Jae Choi, Pat Minogue and Andrew Vito. Tristan Brown, John Hadac and Aaron Francis were honorable mention selections.

SCOUTING THE SEA GULLS: Salisbury is one of the top rushing teams in the nation with its triple option attack. The Sea Gulls average 290.6 yards on the ground and have six players who has rushed for more than 100 yards on the season.

Salisbury averages 29.3 points per game this season on offense, and possesses a stingy defense that has allowed just 12.6 points a game. The defensive unit holds its opposition to 264.8 yards a game, 164.2 of which comes through the air.
