ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team opened up its season with victories over Fredonia, Buffalo State and SUNY Brockport on Saturday at home.

The Bombers started the meet off strong, taking first in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of
Bradley Keith,
Andrew Mikhailichenko,
Nate Bartalo and
Aaron Levin finished with a time of 1:38.00 to win the race.

Ithaca's team of
Kevin Shin,
Andrew Skinner, Dan Meyers and Stanley Zaneski finished with a time of 1:40.08 to earn second place.

The Bombers took the top two spots in the 1000 yard freestyle next.
Jake Hewitt finished in first with a time of 10:37.06 while Pat Daly took second with a final time of 10:55.74.

Ithaca's top finisher in the 200 yard freestyle was Meyers, who swam to a time of 1:51.63.

Shin won the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 25.58. Keith and
Liam Maginnis took third and fourth, respectively.

In the 50 yard breaststroke, Mikhailichenko swam to a first-place time of 27.34 to win his first of three events on the day. Skinner took third place with a time of 29.73.

Once again, an Ithaca swimmer was victorious in the 100 yard butterfly. Bartalo finished in the top spot with a time of 52.75.

The Bombers took second, third and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle. Levin was the top finisher for Ithaca, taking second with a time of 21.61. Zaneski swam to a third-place time of 21.82 while
Kellen Scanlan finished fourth with a time of 22.79.

Levin was also the top finisher in the 100 yard freestyle, taking second with a time of 48.19.

The Bombers finished in second, third and fourth in the 100 yard backstroke. Shin was the top finisher in second place with a time of 56.95. Keith finished in third place with a time of 57.31 while
Marshall Hendlin took third after swimming to a time of 59.96.

Mikhailichenko won his second race of the day, finishing the 100 yard breastroke in 59.40. He beat out Buffalo States' Tanner Rees, who took second, by nearly five seconds.

Hewitt took first in the 500 yard freestyle, swimming to a time of 5:03.30, besting the second place swimmer – Fredonia's Graham Jones – by 13 seconds.

The Bombers finished in three of the four top spots in the 50 yard butterfly.

Bartalo took first with at time of 24.14 while Meyers finished in third with a time of 25.00 and
Nick Bonnabeau finished fourth with a time of 25.31.

Ithaca swept the top three spots in the 100 yard IM. Mikhailichenko won his third race of the day with a time of 57.06.
John Mosier finished in second place after swimming to a time of 59.46 while Auggi Carlozzi finished in third with a time of 59.64.

The Bombers took first in the final event of the day, the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Zaneski, Bartalo, Scanlan and Levin won after swimming to a time of 1:28.17, nearly four seconds ahead of second place.

On the diving side, Ithaca's top finisher in the 3 meter dive was Justin Moczynski with a score of 160.50. He also was the top finisher in the 1 meter dive with a score of 189.65. Â

The Bombers are back in action on Saturday, October 28 at RPI.
