Haley Kusak posted wins in singles action, but the Ithaca College women's tennis team fell to regionally-ranked Hamilton College Saturday afternoon inside the Margaret Bundy Scott Fieldhouse in Clinton, N.Y.

Ithaca (14-6) fell for just the sixth time in 20 matches during the 2015-16 season. The Bombers, the 11-time champions of the Empire 8 conference, dropped four of six singles matches and were swept in the three doubles matches against the Continentals (13-5), ranked 17th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Northeast regional rankings.

Kusak earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles to run her season-long record to 15-4, the most singles wins on the team. Blumenthal recorded a straight-sets, 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles and improved to 11-3 in singles play this year.

In the rest of singles action: freshman
Caroline Dunn dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision at the second flight, classmate
Shayna Ginster lost 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles, freshman
Kathryn Shaffer lost a 6-2, 6-4 decision at the fifth flight, and junior
Jodi Grosberg dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision at the sixth flight.

In doubles action: Dunn and Kusak dropped an 8-3 decision at the first flight, while Ginster and Shaffer suffered an 8-4 setback at the second flight. Blumenthal and junior
Maddie Overholt fell 8-1 at third doubles to round out the scoring.

Ithaca returns to action with a 10 a.m. Senior Day match against Connecticut College on Sunday, May 1 at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Blumenthal, the lone IC senior, will be honored for her hard work and dedication to the women's tennis program.
