                     EWING, N.J.  — The Ithaca College women's tennis team fell to nationally-ranked The College of New Jersey 9-0 Sunday afternoon in Ewing, N.J.
 
Ithaca (14-5) fell for just the fifth time in 19 matches during the 2015-16 season. The Bombers, the 11-time champions of the Empire 8 conference, did not win a set against the Lions (12-3), ranked 29th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national rankings.
 
In singles action, junior 
Haley Kusak lost to Brittany Reedman, 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, the same score that senior 
Marni Blumenthal fell to Sneha Rangu at second singles.
 
Freshman 
Caroline Dunn lost to Grace Minassian, 6-0, 6-1 in the third flight, while classmate 
Shayna Ginster dropped a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Anna Prestera at fourth singles.
 
Fellow freshman 
Kathryn Shaffer lost to Alyssa Baldi, 6-0, 6-1 at the fifth flight, while junior 
Jodi Grosberg lost to Emily Szkudlarski by a 6-1, 6-3 score at sixth singles.
 
In doubles play, Kusak and Dunn lost to Minassian and Maddy Stoner by an 8-2 score in the first flight. Shaffer and Ginster lost to Prestera and Baldi by an 8-1 score at second doubles, while Blumenthal and junior 
Maddie Overholt dropped an 8-5 decision to Rangu and Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette to round out the scoring.
