HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's basketball team ran away with a 72-42 Empire 8 Conference win at Houghton College on Friday evening to improve its record to 5-6 overall on the season and 2-1 in the conference. Ithaca has now won two straight games and heads to Alfred University tomorrow for another conference showdown at 4 p.m. Houghton drops to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the E8.
The Bombers never trailed in the game and jumped out to a 25-5 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, Ithaca held a 37-12 advantage, and shot 45.4-percent overall in the half (15-for-33) and 58.3-percent from three-point range (7-for12). Both team scored 10 points in the third quarter, but the Bombers would outscore the Highlanders, 25-20 in the final stanza to secure the 30-point triumph.
Freshman
Allie Tunick led the Bombers with a career-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-5 from distance with four rebounds. Sophomore
Jordan Beers added 14 points on an efficient 5-of-8 evening, and 4-of-5 from behind the arc, to go along with four boards, two assists and a steal.

Ali Ricchiuti also reached double-digits with 11 points, while classmate
Erin Ferguson and sophomore
Allison Spaschak each tallied six points. Ferguson also pulled down seven rebounds with three assists.
Junior
Shayna Gaskins grabbed seven rebounds to go along with five points. Freshman
Annie Giannone hit a three-pointer, and six other Bombers chipped in two points a piece.
After tomorrow's matchup with Alfred at 4 p.m., the Bombers will host Elmira at 8 p.m. on Jan. 12.
