GLASSBORO, N.J. – The nationally-ranked Ithaca College women's soccer team suffered its first setback of the 2015 campaign on Friday as the Bombers fell, 1-0, to Rowan College at the Profs Soccer Classic in Glassboro, N.J.
With the loss, Ithaca, which is ranked No. 25 in the latest national poll, falls to 1-1-0, while Rowan moves to 1-0-0.
The game's lone goal came in the 71st minute when Rowan lofted one over the head of Bombers' goalminder
Beth Coppolecchia on a breakaway opportunity.
The Bombers had a chance in the final seconds of play as
Megan Nash booted one towards the far post, but it was not to be as the shot sailed high, allowing Rowan to escape with the one-goal win.
Coppolecchia took the loss and evened her season mark at 1-1-0. The senior goalie made three saves in 90 minutes of action.
As a team, the Bombers outshot Rowan, 11-5, while taking three corner kick opportunities.
Ithaca will look to right the ship at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when they take on Ursinus in the final leg of the Profs Soccer Classic in Glassboro, N.J.
