HOBOKEN, N.J. — The Ithaca College women's tennis team continued its red-hot start to the 2015-16 season, blanking Stevens Institute of Technology 9-0 Saturday.

In a rematch of the 2014-15 Empire 8 conference championship, the Bombers (4-0, 4-0 E8) swept all six singles matches and all three doubles clashes against the Ducks (3-2, 3-2).

For the second straight match, junior Haley Kusak (first singles) earned a 6-0, 6-0 win to spark the Bombers.

Freshman Shayna Ginster earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles, while freshman McKinleigh Lair dropped just one game in earning a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at second singles.

Freshman Caroline Dunn emerged with a 6-1, 6-3 win at third singles, senior Marni Blumenthal earned a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at fourth singles, and freshman Kathryn Shaffer prevailed 6-2, 6-0 at sixth singles for Ithaca.

In doubles action, Kusak and Lair won 8-0 at first doubles, while Blumenthal and Dunn won 8-3 at second doubles, and Ginster and junior Sydney Greenspan held on for an 8-6 win at third doubles.

Ithaca, which has won 10 straight Empire 8 titles, hosts Elmira College at 4 p.m. Tuesday on the Wheeler Tennis Courts.
