ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's soccer team was unable to recover after surrendering an early goal as the Bombers fell to nationally-ranked William Smith, 2-0, at Fauver Stadium in the Upstate Collegiate Cup hosted by the University of Rochester.
The loss moves Ithaca to 3-2 overall while the Herons, which are ranked eighth overall in the nation, improve to 3-1-1 on the season.
William Smith took the lead for good in the 17th minute and never looked back, scoring again in the 62nd minute to seal the win.

Jess Demczar each took one shot in the contest.
Beth Coppolecchia was credited with the loss and moved to 3-2 on the season after coming up with five saves in 90 minutes.
Ithaca's next bout will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday when it takes on Cortland in the consolation game of the Upstate Collegiate Cup in Rochester.
