No. 25 Bombers Tackle Farmingdale; Quigg Earns 299th Career Win

ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Ithaca College women's soccer team picked up its second consecutive win on Saturday as the No. 25 Bombers handed Farmingdale its first loss of the season, 2-0, at Carp Wood Field.

The win moves Ithaca head coach Mindy Quigg to 299 wins in her illustrious career and edges the Bombers' season mark to 3-1-1 while the Rams fall to 2-1-1 overall.

The Bombers scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 12th minute when Sarah Woychick netted her second goal of the season after collecting her own rebound and beating Farmingdale's keeper.  Kelsey King was credited with an assist on the play.

Ithaca would add an insurance goal in the 31st minute as Holly Niemiec deflected a shot of the Rams' goalie that trickled into the back of the net to put the Bombers up 2-0.

Farmingdale continued to test Bombers' goalie Beth Coppolecchia, but the senior was up to the task, earning her first shutout of the season as the Bombers earned the two-goal win.  The Katonah native made eight saves in 90 minutes of action.

Ithaca will look to extend its winning streak to three games at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday when they take on nationally-ranked William Smith in the opening round of the Rochester Tournament in Rochester.
