ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's tennis team got singles victories from Haley Kusak and Alyssa Steinweis and dropped several other close matches as New Paltz defeated Ithaca 7-2 on Friday evening at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Ithaca is 12-6 on the season and New Paltz is 11-6.

All three doubles matches were decided by close scores, as New Paltz won 8-5 at the second and third positions, and pulled out a 9-8 (7-5) win at first doubles to take a 3-0 lead in the match.

Kusak was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at first singles for Ithaca, and Steinweis won 6-1, 6-4 at fourth singles.

Ithaca returns to action April 12 at The College of New Jersey.
