Bombers Keep Rolling with Sixth Straight Win

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The nationally-ranked Ithaca College women's soccer team scored three first half goals and never looked back, defeating Elmira College, 4-0, on Tuesday in an Empire 8 contest at Campus Field.

With the win, Ithaca, which is ranked 25th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national poll, pushed its winning streak to six games moving to 10-3-1 overall in the process and 5-0-1 in the Empire 8 standings.  Elmira falls to 4-10-0 on the season with a conference mark of 2-4-0.

Ithaca jumped all over Elmira's defense from the get-go.  Sarah Woychick put the Bombers up for good in the ninth minute after booting a shot into the top corner from outside the box.  Minutes later, Kelsey King would score one of her two goals in similar fashion after finding the top right corner to put the visitors up, 2-0 midway through the opening half.

Jocelyn Ravesi would give Ithaca a 3-0 advantage in the 33rd minute after rebounding a shot off King's foot and blasting it into the back of the net.  King was credited with an assist on the play.

Ithaca would continue to roll offensively, scoring in the 50th minute when King scored her second tally of the match after beating several Soaring Eagle defenders before beating the Elmira Keeper to put Ithaca up, 4-0.

Beth Coppolecchia held the Soaring Eagles scoreless in 90 minutes after coming up with nine saves in goal.  The Katonah native has now recorded three consecutive shutouts and has reached the 10-win plateau for the third straight season.

The Bombers, who have not lost in their last eight games, will return to the pitch at 12 p.m. on Saturday when they take on Nazareth in Rochester.
