Oneonta, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's soccer team pushed its winning streak to four games on Tuesday after handing Oneonta a 1-0 loss at Red Dragon Field. With the win, Ithaca improves to 8-3-1 overall while the Red Dragons slip to 9-2-2.
Defense dominated much of the contest as neither team would be able to notch a goal until the 65th minute when
Jess Demczar would give the Bombers the lead for good after dribbling around two defenders and firing a strike into the top right corner of the goal for her second tally of the season.
Oneonta was unable to break through Ithaca's defense as the final frame ticked away as the Bombers limited the Red Dragons to only three shots in the second half.
Beth Coppolecchia, the reigning Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week, earned her eighth win of the season and second shutout in as many games after making three saves in 90 minutes of play.
Ithaca played well on both sides of the midline, holding the Red Dragons to only eight shots throughout the contest while producing 16 shots including nine on goal.Â
Kelsey King had a game-high seven shots in the win while
Megan Nash had five.Â
Taylor Baranowsky had two shots.
The Bombers look to keep their momentum going at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they return home to host St. John Fisher in an important Empire 8 showdown at Carp Wood Field.  Â
