Box Score 2 ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College volleyball team earned its second split in as many days on Saturday. The Bombers earned a straight-set victory in the morning session against Baptist Bible, before falling to Oneonta in five sets on the final day of the Bomber Invitational. The 1-1 mark pushes Ithaca's overall record to 5-2 on the year.
Match 1: Ithaca – 3, Baptist Bible – 0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-17)
The Bombers earned their second win of the weekend with a 3-0 victory over Baptist Bible Saturday morning. Ithaca dominated throughout the straight-set victory, beating the Defenders by an average of 12 points-per-set.

Joelle Goldstein led all players with 14 kills on 20 attempts, giving her an impressive .650 kill success rate. Junior captain
Dylan Gawinski Stern ranked second on the Bombers with 11 kills on 24 total attacks.

Kayla Gromen paced Ithaca with nine digs, while sophomore
Maggie Mutschler contributed seven. Junior
Carly Garone ranked first in the match with 19 assists. Sophomore
Molly Brown ranked second on the roster with 15 assists.
Both teams traded points to start the first set, before Ithaca went on a 7-0 run to take a 10-3 lead. The Defenders never recovered, eventually falling to the Bombers, 25-9. Baptist Bible jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the second set, but another strong Ithaca run pushed the Bombers ahead for the final time to put them up, 2-0. Ithaca continued to roll in the third and final set, giving the Bombers a 3-0 win.
Match 2: Ithaca –2, Oneonta – 3 (25-21, 19-25, 17-25, 25-19, 9-15)
Ithaca lost the final match of the weekend to Oneonta in five sets, pushing the Bombers' record to 2-2 over the two-day tournament.
Goldstein once again led all players with 14 kills. She was followed closely by
Caroline Gerulskis and Gawinski Stern who recorded 12 and 14 kills, respectively. Brown paced the team with 21 assists, while Garone ranked second with 13. Gromen recorded 18 digs over the five-set match, the most of any Bomber. Gawinski Stern ranked second on the roster with 14 digs.
Ithaca started strong, taking the first set by a final score of 25-21. Oneonta responded by winning two-straight sets, before the Bombers pushed the match to the fifth with a 25-19 win in the fourth. However, Oneonta prevailed, handing the Bombers their second loss of the season with a 15-9 victory in the final frame.
Ithaca's next game is on the road against Mount Saint Vincent in the Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational.Â
