ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College volleyball program travels down to Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. this weekend for the Empire 8 Conference Championship on Nov. 7-8 as the No. 3 seed. All three matches this weekend at Stevens will be available online via live stats and video. Ithaca (23-10, 6-2) will play second-seeded Nazareth College (25-9, 7-1) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals, and if victorious, will take on the winner of No. 1 Stevens (29-6, 8-0) and No. 4 Houghton College (16-12, 5-3) in the championship match at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The only two losses in conference play dealt to the Bombers this season came from Nazareth and Stevens in a tri-match in Ben Light Gymnasium on Oct. 25. Ithaca lost in five sets to the Golden Flyers, but three sets were decided by two points. Stevens defeated Ithaca in three sets.

In early October, Ithaca went the distance with Houghton in a five-set win on Houghton's home court.

As a team, Ithaca ranks within the top four in the Empire 8 in all major categories, and four student-athletes are top 10 statistically in seven categories.

Freshman Joelle Goldstein leads the Bombers with 350 kills in 116 sets played. Goldstein ranks third in the conference in kills, fifth in kills per set at 3.02 and sixth in hitting percentage at .262.

Senior co-captain Rylie Bean is second in the league with 3.41 kills per set – 273 kills in 80 sets.

Freshman Kayla Gromen holds a team-high 401 digs which is sixth in the E8, while her 720 assists and 6.16 assists per set are seventh. Gromen is also 10th in digs per set at 3.43.

Sophomore Molly Brown rounds out Ithaca's top conference performers with 5.79 assists per set and 272 assists. Brown's assists per set rank eighth while her assists are ninth.

The winner of the conference tournament will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship which begins on Nov. 14. The NCAA Selection Show will air at 11 a.m. on the 10th.
