ITHACA, N.Y. -- In a matchup of undefeated teams in Empire 8 women's tennis, visiting Stevens Institute of Technology won a first-place showdown by a 5-4 score over Ithaca. The Ducks won all three doubles matches to start the dual. Ithaca rallied to claim four of the six singles matches, but the early deficit was unable to be reversed by the Bombers.

Stevens improved to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the Empire 8. Ithaca suffered its first loss of the season and is 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference. The Bombers have a quick turnaround and host St. John Fisher at noon Sunday.

The Ducks pulled out the third-doubles match in a tiebreaker to complete the sweep of doubles matches. Ithaca picked up singles wins from Carly Siegel, Allison Vizgaitis, Alyssa Steinweis and Jodi Grosberg.
