ITHACA, N.Y. – The 18th-ranked Ithaca College men's lacrosse team (5-0) remained undefeated with a 14-4 victory over visiting Oneonta (1-5) Wednesday afternoon at Higgins Stadium. The contest served as Ithaca's 2013 home opener.
The teams exchanged goals to open action, but Ithaca rattled off three straight for a 4-1 gap at halftime. The Bombers added a pair of scores in the third and the Red Dragons closed out the quarter with one of their own to pull within 6-2. The final frame featured 10 goals. Ithaca put up two before Oneonta netted a pair in less than 30 seconds to bring the game to 8-4. Ithaca powered to victory with six unanswered to close out the game.

Jake Long tallied a career-high five scores to lead Ithaca. Classmate

Ryan Burns had a career- and game-high three assists in addition to one goal, while freshman

Matt Greenblatt won eight for the Bombers. The teams split faceoffs, both going 11-for-22.
Defensively, sophomore
Jimmy Ryan had a career day with game-best numbers of six ground balls and four caused turnovers. Freshman
Scott Sidnam improved to 5-0 in goal matching a career-best with 11 stops.
Ithaca, who improved to 11-2 all-time against the Red Dragons, owned a 30-22 gap in shots and a 38-26 advantage in ground balls.
The Bombers return to action on Friday, March 22 at top-ranked Cortland. Please note that the game has been moved up from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m.
