TROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's swimming and diving team opened its 2013-14 season on Saturday, falling to Rensselaer by a score of 160-140 at the RPI Alumni Sports and Recreation Center. The Bombers placed first in 9-of-16 events.
Clement Towner secured the first victory of the day for the men. He earned the top spot in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 10:19.87. Towner also finished first in the 500-yard freestyle, completing the race in a time of 4:59.82.
Other first-place finishes included
Addison Hebert, who earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.24. Newcomer
Lucas Zelehowsky swept the men's butterfly events. He took first with a time of 53.07 in the 100-yard and first in the 200-yard with a time of 1:58.43.
Matt Morrison finished with a total of 281.60 in the 3-meter dive to earn the top spot.
The Bombers capped the meet with the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of

Lucas Zelehowsky,
Connor Schroyer and
Peter Knight finished first with a time of 1:28.54.
