Bomber Men's Swimming & Diving Team Outraces Alfred

ALFRED, N.Y. - Led by three swimmers and one diver who each won two individual events, the Ithaca College men's swimming & diving team outscored Alfred 184-103 on Saturday in a dual meet hosted by the Saxons. Ithaca improved to 14-1 on the season.

Clement Towner won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events with a time of 1:45.92 in the 200 free and 5:03.69 in the 500 free. Adam Zelehowsky placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:13.06 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:00.52. Jake Lichter won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke in 1:01.10 in the 100 and 2:18.24 in the 200.

Lichter also swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay team with Brendan Marks, Taylor Van Cott and Zack Kundel. Van Cott went on to win the 200-yard butterfly in 2:00.24. Ben Kennedy won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.94 seconds and John Carr won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.19 seconds.

Ithaca diver Matt Morrison swept the diving events with NCAA qualifying scores on each board. He won the 1-meter with a total of 293.10 and the 3-meter with 344.80 points.

The Bomber divers will be in action Sunday at noon at home as they host the Dick Comanzo Memorial Invitational and the swimming & diving team will complete its dual meet season next Saturday at Union.
