ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's tennis team (1-0, 1-0 Empire 8) posted a 9-0 win over visiting Alfred (1-2, 0-1 Empire 8) Tuesday afternoon in a match that was contested at the Wheeler Tennis Courts and inside of Glazer Arena. The Bombers return to action Wednesday, continuing conference play at Elmira.

All six players in the Ithaca lineup -- five of whom have earned at least one all-conference honor in their careers -- were double-winners with doubles and singles victories. The Bombers dropped a total of nine games over the nine match victories, including an aggregate total of 24-1 in doubles play.

Freshman Marni Blumenthal picked up her first collegiate victories in the dual match, and seniors Cristina Nunez and Allison Young were 8-0 winners at first doubles before also dominating in the top-two singles positions.
