Ithaca, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's tennis team (11-6) defeated New York University (0-9) in a dual match played under a modified format Saturday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center. The Violets had just three players available, and they each competed twice in singles play against Ithaca's six singles positions, and one doubles match was played. All matches were eight-game prosets.
Prior to the match, Ithaca recognized seniors
Becky Campbell and
Kelsey Harness, who were competing at home for the final time.
Campbell is a two-time all-Empire 8 pick and earned her 51st career overall victory in Saturday's match, with an 8-5 win at sixth singles to clinch the dual victory.
Harness fell 8-3 at fifth singles in Saturday's match, was an all-conference pick during the fall season, and has totaled 47 overall victories in her three years as a Bomber.
Ithaca will visit William Smith for a dual match Thursday.
