Rochester, N.Y. -- The Ithaca softball team (7-8) dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Rochester (8-7) Saturday afternoon at GLC Field. Rochester used late runs in each game to pick up the victories, winning the first game 2-1 and the second game 6-5. The Bombers will host Cortland for a doubleheader Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Sam Bender went all six innings and allowed two runs on four hits and two walks. SHe had two strikeouts.

The Bombers carried a 5-1 lead to the bottom of the seventh inning when the Yellow Jackets scored five unearned runs to get the victory. Ithaca scored three runs in the third inning on a bases-loaded RBI single by sophomore designated player
Sydney Folk and added two more on an error. Two more runs crossed for the Bombers in the fifth on an error and and RBI hit by
Vincent. Folk was 2-for-2 in the game and Vincent added two hits. Sophomore pitcher
Jillian Olmstead was charged with all six runs, but only one was earned. She pitched six and two-thirds innings with four strikeouts.
