Hilton Head, S.C. -- The Ithaca women's tennis team earned a 5-4 win over Connecticut College during the team's spring trip to South Carolina and it was Ithaca's 10th win of the season. The Bombers (10-3) will compete again Wednesday against Bloomsburg.
SIngles matches were played first in this dual, and the Bombers picked up four of the six possible points in singles play. Junior
Allison Young won at first singles and senior
Kelsey Harness picked up a win at fifth singles. Senior
Becky Campbell won a three-set match at sixth singles to give Ithaca a 3-1 lead, and freshman
Carly Siegel earned Ithaca's fourth victory with a comeback win at the second position. Siegel trailed 5-0 in the second set, but ran off seven straight games to force a deciding super-breaker for the third set, which Siegel won 10-4.
Ithaca's clinching doubles point came from freshman
Allison Vizgaitis and Harness with an 8-2 win at third doubles.
