ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's tennis team (10-9) dropped a 7-2 decision to William Smith (14-3) Saturday afternoon in the final regular-season competition of the season. William Smith is ranked 15th in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Ithaca is ranked 17th in the region. The Bombers will find out their placement in the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced May 9.

Two Ithaca seniors were honored prior to the match, and both have helped the Bombers to the most successful era in program history. Melanie Cohen (Hatboro-Horsham/Ambler, Pa.) is the program's all-time leader in overall victories. Melissa Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) is the program's career leader in doubles victories. They have helped Ithaca to four straight Empire 8 titles and four appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
