Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca softball team (14-6, 4-2 Empire 8) snapped RIT's six-game winning streak with an 8-1 win in the second game of an Empire 8 doubleheader Sunday afternoon. RIT (12-7, 4-2 Empire 8) won the first game by a 3-2 score. The 23rd-ranked Ithaca softball team hosts Oneonta at Kostrinsky Field Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The Bomber bats came to life in the second game of the day as Ithaca tallied eight runs on nine hits, including five hits for extra-bases, and took advantage of three RIT errors.
Senior pitcher
Britt Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Mendon) earned the victory in the circle and had two hits and three RBIs, including a home run and she also had a stolen base. Sophomore first baseman Carianne D'Alessandro
(Bridgewater-Raritan/Bound Brook, N.J.) also had two hits in the game including a double, and scored twice with an RBI. That double was one of four in the game by Ithaca hitters.
Lillie pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just four hits with six strikeouts and no walks. She is 4-2 on the year.
