Nationally-Ranked Skidmore Knocks Off Women's Tennis

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's tennis team (10-1) saw its unbeaten record snapped with an 8-1 defeat at #19 Skidmore in the first dual match of the calendar year for the Bombers.

Ithaca's victory came at first singles, where sophomore Cristina Nunez (Morris Hills/Rockaway, N.J.) was a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Skidmore's Rachael Loeb. Nunez, ranked seventh in the Northeast Region in singles play by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, is 17-1 in singles play on the year.

Ithaca will return to competition March 14 on its spring training trip against Wheaton (Mass.).
