ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team closed out the 2025-26 season on a high note Wednesday afternoon, earning a 5-2 victory over the visiting New Paltz Hawks inside Glazer Arena.
The Bombers secured four singles victories, beginning at No. 1 where
Alys Pop cruised past Justine Stanejko in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4.
Sabrina Cheung followed with a strong performance at No. 2 singles, claiming a 7-5, 6-4 win.
Madeleine Sutro added another point at No. 3 singles, defeating Sydney Sladicka by scores of 6-3, 6-3, while
Ava Casell-Lapetina earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4.
Ithaca also captured the doubles point with wins at the top two positions. At No. 1 doubles, Pop and Cheung teamed up to defeat Stanejko and Sam Ostrander, 6-4. Sutro and Casell‑Lapetina secured the other doubles victory at No. 2 with a decisive 6–1 result.
With the win, the Bombers conclude the 2025-26 season with a 6-11 overall record.
